It seems like just yesterday (okay, November) when I was telling you about the 2010 color of the year. Well, move over turquoise, it’s honeysuckle for 2011! A beautiful shade of pink that’s showing up everywhere. Here’s what Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®, says about it:
In times of stress, we need something to lift our spirits. Honeysuckle is a captivating, stimulating color that gets the adrenaline going – perfect to ward off the blues. Honeysuckle derives its positive qualities from a powerful bond to its mother color red, the most physical, viscerally alive hue in the spectrum.”
Now, on the topic of pink – it seems to be one of those colors that people either love or hate, to decorate with. I happen to love it – especially a dusty muddled pink with a little brown thrown in the picture (my bathroom colors in fact). What about you, not sure? Wondering how to get those images of baby nurseries and Pepto Bismol out of your head?
It just so happens that the brand new issue of House Beautiful is called The Power of Pink! And let me tell you, it’s f-a-b-u-l-o-u-s-! So for those of you who haven’t see it yet, here’s a peek and a little pink inspiration.
One question, did anyone else think that honeysuckle was yellow?
Yes, I did think honeysuckle was yellow! Nice job, esp. when read on a minus 3 degree day.
